Pierre Paul L?vy (Dreyfus's daughter). This documentary makes the claim that the turn-of-the-century trial of Captain Alfred Dreyfus led to a resurgence of anti-Semitism, and was to some extent engineered by Germans acting in concert with certain French industrialists. Without question it fanned the flames of openly-expressed anti-Semitism, as France hotly debated the innocence of Dreyfus, an Alsatian Jew serving in the French armed forces who was accused and convicted (repeatedly) of writing a treasonous letter. The first trial, in 1894 at least had some evidence to back the accusation, but even after it was definitively shown that the evidence was false and that another man was guilty, military tribunals continued to judge Dreyfus guilty. This refusal to face the clear evidence in the case led to tremendous domestic turmoil in France and caused worldwide controversy." ==See Also== ==Trailer== ,,Full Version Available Upon Request,, \\ ,,Related Documentary,,\\ {{ youtube>yC8aMb2fI9s }} \\ {{tag>History Politic Military 19Th_Cent.
