Marathon Media - KIZU The Untold Story of Unit 731 (2004)
The Japanese army occupied Manchuria in 1932. Japanese armed forces would
soon storm China, South-east Asia, the Philippines and Indonesia. The plan
to control the whole of East Asia was taking shape. 1932 was also the year when
a top secret Japanese army unit - commanded by Dr Shiro Ishii - set up in Manchuria.
Its mission was to experiment with and mass-produce bacteriological weapons.

On September 1, 1939 — the first day of World War II in Europe —
President Franklin D. Roosevelt appealed to the warring nations to
“under no circumstances undertake the bombardment from the air of civilian populations.”
Just six years later, British and American Allied forces had carried out
a bombing campaign of unprecedented might over Germany’s cities, claiming the
lives of nearly half a million civilians. Between 1941 and 1945,
Allied forces would drop more than a million tons of bombs on Germany.

Born into slavery, in Port Tobacco, Charles County, Maryland, he escaped to Upper Canada
(now Ontario) in 1830, and founded a settlement and laborer's school for other fugitive
slaves at Dawn, near Dresden, in Kent County, Upper Canada, of Ontario.
