Charles “Lucky” Luciano is found guilty of running a prostitution ring and goes to prison. He has to figure out how to run his empire from his 8 by 10 foot cell. Lucky must choose between Frank Costello, the “gentleman gangster” and Vito Genovese, the tough guy hoodlum as head of his gang. Even though Costello is smarter, Lucky makes him an underboss and promotes Genovese to acting boss. So Vito Genovese becomes a don, but not for long… When Genovese has to flee in 1937, Frank Costello becomes the most powerful gangster boss. Costello has extensive contacts with politicians, judges and police officers. Meanwhile, Lucky is determined to get out of prison and his opportunity may come from a battle soon to be waged halfway around the world.
