Arte - Stalin's Executioners Katyn 1940 (2020)

In 1940 Stalin ordered the NKVD the execution of 22,000 Polish prisoners of war (military officers, intellectuals, policemen, landowners, factory owners, lawyers, priests, and officials). 4,500 of whom were murdered in the Katyn forest in Russia.

The Katyn massacre was beneficial to Nazi Germany, which used it to discredit the Soviet Union.

In a remarkably detailed documentary, Cedric Tourbe brings to light how this crime against humanity occurred and sheds light on the paranoid and ruthless inner workings of the Soviet state.
