Ross Kemp Libyas Migrant Hell

The migrant crisis spiraled out of control last year and is yet to show signs of slowing. Award winning documentary maker Ross Kemp highlights the dangerous journey taken by thousands desperate to leave Libya in search of a safer life in Europe. Every month, around 10,000 migrants set sail from Libya in search of a better life. Reports of deaths at sea and images of dinghies crammed with people are often seen in the news, with the image of the young migrant boy washed up on the shore, being one that still haunts many. However, unpublicised is the arduous and danger-filled journey that migrants take to reach the boats and in fact, there are more people that die attempting to cross the Sahara desert than those that die at sea. To highlight the journey made by the migrants Ross travels across Libya from the desert to Tripoli and the coast, witnessing the many dangers the migrants encounter along the way and discovers how the breakdown of Libya is forcing thousands to risk their lives.
