“Earth From Above” is a serie of 15 documentaries (plus a special Copenhaguen episode) of 90 minutes each, presented by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and dedicated to the major challenges faced by our planet, It was broadcast on France 2 and France 3, French national television. “Earth From Above” brings the viewer beautiful High Definition imags of the Earth. Each episodes talks about a particular environmental challenge. The show “Earth From Above” is 4 years of shooting for 4 seasons and a total of 15 episodes plus special Copenhague (“A night for the Earth”)

After a first part dealing with biodiversity and second the issue of fresh water, this third episode of Earth from Above is devoted to the global marine heritage: its diversity, its wealth, but also - and especially - threats on it. The seas and oceans, whose total area covers 72 % of our planet, are invaluable but not inexhaustible resource : too often imbalances originating from a human initiative jeopardize their fragile ecosystem. Awareness and publicize the importance of protecting marine heritage , this is the ambition of Yann Arthus -Bertrand . Essential to the lives of many people around the globe resource, yet the sea is under increasing pollution. Effect “ trash ” , overfishing , wild coastal urbanization are phenomena that threaten water quality and, in fact , wildlife and marine flora .
