Paramount Pictures - Moana (1926)
Filmmaker Robert J. Flaherty presents a docufictional account of a family living in a Samoan village in the early 1920s. This film is the first to receive the genre-name “documentary”. In other cases, it is referred to as “docufiction”. a.k.a. “Moana with Sound”, this film received a sound track in 1980 through family efforts and was digitally restored in 2014.
